About this event
At Black History Bike Ride, EVERY month is Black history month!
To ring in the official month-long celebration of Black history this February, we’re hosting a special ride that focuses on several Black Civil Rights activists who call/called Austin home. Please be sure to RSVP ahead of time and meet us at 1pm on February 4th at the Barbara Jordan Statue at Whitis and 24th! As always our community events are free for all to attend. If you'd like to donate we would really appreciate it!
All of our rides move at a relaxed pace, and riders of all abilities will be able to learn about history with us. If you need to rent a bike, Austin Bike Tour and Rentals has provided a 10% discount if you book ahead through their website. Make sure to use the Offer Code "BHBR" to redeem the offer.

If you are renting a bike, we recommend renting the "Full day" option and picking it up at least an hour ahead of our event start time so you have time to ride it to the starting location. The rental location (1710 East 2nd St) is an easy 20 minute ride to the start of the social ride.
And, if we miss you at this event, don’t fret! Black History Bike Ride is hosting four additional rides for 2023, including a Black Women’s History Ride in March, our 4th annual Juneteenth Social Ride in June, a Black Music History Ride in October, and one more in November (topic TBD)!
