Event description

Description

#ForgottenFigures is Black SuperSheroes second major exhibition for Black History Month celebrating historical Black women in Britain from 1300 - Presesnt. This art exhibition is the first of it's kind that will focus soley on Black women who are ofetn overlooked in the national cirriculum in schools. Our purpose is to make Black History studies more decorated, contemporary and engaging for KS2/3 in education.

Celebrated women will feature the navy's first black female sailor 'William Brown' to current sheroes such as boxer Nicola Adams (though she isn't forgotten) where they will be transformed into supershero charcters because they were game changers and broke down barriers.

Though this exhibition is primarlily focused for schools, families and indivduals are very welcome to come at a admission price of £7.00

During the October half term Black SuperSheroes will be teaming up with organisations within London to run FREE creative workshops for girls (7-12yrs) that will help compliment the exhibition. Workshops will include:

Fight Like Nicola - One Day Boxing Workshop for girls only - PEDRO BOXING YOUTH CLUB

Forgotton Figures - Family event to watch the Hollywood blockbuster on the big screen - RIO CINEMA

Emma Clarke Clarke Clarke! - One Day Football workshop for girls only
