Join us in New Orleans for a morning of literary celebration! Our 3rd Annual Black History Month Literary Weekend Jazz Brunch promises to be bigger and better than ever!

The Literary Jazz Brunch: An Ivory and Cream Experience is the signature event of the Black History Month New Orleans Literary Weekend. The purpose of the Black History Month Literary Weekend is to showcase published, self-published, local and independent authors, as well as introduce young adults to a whole new literary world while exposing them to a part of Black History beyond what they learn in school.

o We will feature 10 new fiction and nonfiction authors:

  • Diana Riley, author of Cooking on Purpose: Life Lessons Learned from the Kitchen
  • Tosha Smith-Mills, author of Momma I Should Have Listened

  • Dr. Willie Black, author of The PhD Game
  • Daphne Cross, author of Be Blessed in Your Wilderness Experience
  • Dr. DeLois Jackson, author of Faith: My Walking Cane to Glory
  • Carla Pennington, author of The Available Wife
  • Domonique S. Washington, author of Ever After Happily

o Guest speakers this year will be Dr. Raenell Houston, superintendent of Catholic Schools, and Dr. Lisa Aubrey, author of In Search of Bimbia.

o New Orleans' own Joy Orleans will also bless our ears with live Jazz.
