Black Girls CODE Dallas Chapter Presents: MakeCode Arcade at Microsoft
Event Information
Description
Black Girls Code and Microsoft: Code your own video game with MakeCode Arcade
This free, 2-hour introductory coding workshop is an engaging and interactive way for girls ages 10-13 to learn block coding by creating their very own game. They will also have the opportunity to meet a local woman who will speak about her pathway to a career in technology. During this hands-on activity, students will use block coding to create a video game with MakeCode Arcade. Students learn fundamental game and coding concepts—like sprites, variables, and coordinates—and use their new skills to create and customize a playable game
By the end of the workshop, students will have:
* Learned and used key game design and coding concepts
* Shared their games with a partner for inspiration
* Published their game via URL so they can continue to play and develop it after the workshop
Don’t miss this opportunity to meet new role models, get inspired by the pros, and get a hands-on introduction to the world of coding.
