Black Girls CODE @ General Motors

General Motors African Ancestry Network (GMAAN) is excited to invite Black Girls Code ages 7- 17 to their office to experience their Innovators of Tomorrow event. Participants will spend their day working on interactive coding activities Also, a catered lunch will be provided. It will be a great day to meet other students from your group and others. Spaces are limited, so register today Below is a quick overview of some of the workshops being offered. We look forward to seeing you there!

Robo Buggy 101

Students will program a Robo buggy using the raspberry pi, and other hardware. Students will learn how to code the ability for the vehicle to move and to have several sequential commands execute. Suitable for students of all ages. Younger students should be accompanied by a parent willing to learn and help as well.

Robo Buggy 201

A more advanced course of the Robo Buggy. Geared towards older students.

Making Music With Ear Sketch

Students will learn how to use the Python programming language in a fun, exciting and engaging way by creating music.

Get Rolling With Sphero

Have fun learning to program with Sphero a cutting edge mini rolling robot. Help sphero navigate through a maze filled with obstacles

Security 101

Learn about IT Security.

Tech-Savvy Parents

Learn about some of the technology tools that you can use to keep watch out for your children and keep them safe.

Note: Students ages 7 – 14 must have a parent or guardian on-site the duration of the event.
