Black, Gay, and Thriving: Overcoming the Unexpected
Date and time
Bursting out of the darkness of the pandemic, GPMC will highlight a full rainbow of success within the Black Queer Community.
About this event
Kicking off 2022 DC Black Pride Weekend, GPMC presents, Black, Gay, and Thriving will highlight successful black, gay professionals, business owners, community leaders and promote local, black, queer owned businesses and services empowering our community.
Far too often do we look to those outside of our community to dictate what "success" looks like, how to get there, when we already have amazing examples within our community. As gay, professional men of color we have made great strides across all career fields from medicine to sports, politics to entertain, and the arts to education. We will learn from the success and mistakes of today’s leaders to create the leaders of tomorrow.
Our panel will center on the paths of our highlighted, successful professionals to discuss the road to their success, obstacles they've had to overcome, and to offer practical advice to those seeking to follow in a similar path on to use while creating their own.
Please join us as we hearing from some of our community's most thriving professionals.
The Panel discussion will immediately be followed by a networking and affirmation reception where we can network and celebrate our community's best.
Though focusing on gay people of color, it is OPEN TO ALL PEOPLE.
