Black Film Weekend opening night! Screenings celebrate the cinematic storytelling traditions of the African diaspora in conjunction with the exhibition Afrocosmologies: American Reflections.

6pm: Cash bar opens

7pm: Film screening

9pm: Reception with director Storm Saulter and actor Dale Elliot

This riveting film tells of a Jamaican teenage sprinter who struggles to find himself while grappling with the fact that his mother left home and migrated to the US to help support the family. Left behind are his alcoholic father and a brother who once was a champion runner, but who has since turned to crime as a way to make a living. The screening will be followed by a reception with director Storm Saulter and actor Dale Elliott.
