Black Film Space is partnering with the Luminal Theater for their Autumn Screening Series on:

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH from 7:30pm-10:00pm

We are showcasing the latest independent film projects from members of Black Film Space for other filmmakers and our community of supporters! 6-8 filmmakers will screen their films followed by a brief Q&A session.



SHOOT BROOTHER

Filmmaker: Ty Scott

This film tells the story of three young men whose friendship is put to test when they become addicted to gambling.

AUBADE THE SUNRISE

Filmmakers: Kervin Marseille & William Leonard.

An experimental, spiritual, and musical dance piece about young Haitian male going thru the classic hero's journey to become his true self, a Black God

JENNIFERCATION

Filmmaker: Henry Rembert

Native Brooklynite, Harold Watkins, married outside of his race and moved out of the neighborhood that he grew up in. Being an interracial couple isn't any harder or easier, we've all changed our status to "It's complicated" at some point because relationships aren't just Black and White.

GETTING OVER

A gentleman on a mission who is distracted by a woman that crosses his path, starts a new mission to find and meet her which always results in him missing her by mere seconds.

REST IN POWER, MALIK CARMICHAEL

Filmmaker: S. Ajay Ram

An experimental short film, eulogizing the life of Malik Carmichael, a fictional black teenager from Harlem. Though documentary-style interviews with Malik's friends and family, Rest In Power pieces together the exceptional life and puzzling death of an urban youth on the verge of brilliance and destruction.
