Event description

Description

For years, Black Families have been on the frontlines when it comes to advocating for freedom, Civil Rights, and criminal justice reform - not often by choice. Join 1Hood Media and POISE Foundation for a community conversation on the intersection of the Black Family and Advocacy with special guest Dr. Michael Eric Dyson. We will explore the role the Black Family has played historically in the fight for Civil Rights and freedoms; the impact; how this fight is playing out presently nationwide and locally; and finally, how we as a community support Black Families that find themselves in the fight. Admission is $10 and doors will open at 6PM. Limited scholarships are available. For more information about the event or to request a scholarship, please contact POISE Foundation at 412-281-4967 or via email at grants@poisefdn.org.
