Description

Since 2009, Black Dog Ride http://www.blackdogride.com/ has raised over $2.2 million for mental health services in Australia. We met so many new friends on our “Ride Across America” in 2015 that we have made the commitment to extend the mission of Black Dog Ride from “down under” into the USA. http://www.blackdogride.com/view/usa

The first event will be a Black Dog Ride “1 Dayer”. Our goal is to hold simultaneous rides across the USA to further our goal of raising awareness of depression and suicide prevention. The date is September 25, 2016.

Funds raised in the US remain in the US and are used at the local level through our partnership with the National Council on Behavioral Health http://www.thenationalcouncil.org/ and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) http://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/cs/. All registration fees and contributions are tax-deductible.

Join us on a ride from Santa Fe Harley-Davidson to Taos on Sunday, September 25. There will be a stop and ceremony at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge 10 miles northwest of Taos to pay our respects to those that have committed suicide from the bridge. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, locally known as the "Gorge Bridge" , is 565 feet (172 m) above the Rio Grande, it is the seventh highest bridge in the United States.

Riders will meet at Santa Fe Harley on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 AM for check-in, breakfast and a 8:30 AM departure to Taos. All makes of motorcycles and affiliations are welcome.
