Description
Since 2009, Black Dog Ride http://www.blackdogride.com/ has raised over $2.2 million for mental health services in Australia. We met so many new friends on our “Ride Across America” in 2015 that we have made the commitment to extend the mission of Black Dog Ride from “down under” into the USA. http://www.blackdogride.com/view/usa
Our first event will be what is called a Black Dog Ride “1 Dayer”. Our goal is to hold simultaneous rides across the USA to further our goal of raising awareness of depression and suicide prevention. The date will be October 2, 2016.
Funds raised in the US will remain in the US and are used at the local level through our partnership with the National Council on Behavioral Health http://www.thenationalcouncil.org/ and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) http://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/cs/. All registration fees and contributions are tax-deductible.
Please arrive at the Elk's Club no later than 9:00 AM for sign in, program and ride instructions. We roll at 10:00 AM. Join us for breakfast and a ride through the countryside to support a most worthy cause!
