Our theme this month is focused on planting, growing and evolving. You're invited to share Songs (Covers + Originals), Poems, Stories and Affirmations that talk about the process, the darkness, the change and the glory.

Featuring Jon Hope, an Award winning artist Jon Hope has continued to evolve and forge new paths in his growing career. He has released 6 independent projects and written and produced over 30 visuals and short films. Hope leveraged his musical platform to impact the music industry in a myriad of ways that include launching his clothing line and multimedia company, Zayn Butler, Hip Hop educational initiatives, and an expansive acting portfolio.

Black Cotton Club has re-imagined open mics and jam sessions, by incorporating an interactive, intimate and an impromptu experience. We welcome the audience to be unfiltered and unapologetically themselves, in an environment that is non-judgmental. Featuring a live band, we invite the audience to control the ambience of the event through their own narrative.

This Jam Session is made possible by New Roots AME Church

Join New Roots AME Church, the Boston Public Library, and ArtsEmerson as they invite the city of Boston to participate in a Citywide Read of The Parable of the Sower, written by Octavia E. Butler.
