Event Details

A hard-hitting new drama inspired by the life and philosophy of Yvonne Bechet, one of New Orleans first African American female police officers. Written by Ariadne Blayde, Directed by Troy Poplous and starring Carol Sutton, featured actress in such films as "The Help," "Kidnapped" and "Ray."  Times-Picayune says "Black and Blue tackles important issues."  WDSU-TV says “Black and Blue is a new play with a lot more than just theater on its mind.”

Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for youth (13-21) and members of the NOPD.  The production is not recommended for children under 13.

GROUPS: An extra $1 off each ticket for groups of 10+, contact the organizer to learn more.

Each performance will be followed by an optional community dialogue facilitated by staff members of the Center for Restorative Approaches.

CRA provides schools, workplaces and other communities with training, consulting and facilitation of dialogue circles which improve communication, build relationships, reduce violence and allow those most impacted by conflict and wrongdoing to develop their own solutions for justice and well-being.
