"Black Bag Jog" for homeless people
Sun, April 23, 2017, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM BST
PolFit are a fitness club based in Fraserburgh who are committed to promoting Health & Wellbeing and supporting local charities. We believe everyone should have an opportunity to better themselves whether it’s through attending fitness classes, personal tuition or understanding dietary requirements.
With a strong set of ethical values, we at PolFit want to make a positive difference by giving back to society, especially for those people who are less fortunate and in need of a helping hand.
What is a ‘Black Bag Jog’? Well, it’s an event that will involve a number of people jogging (or walking, if you prefer) around the town of Fraserburgh, collecting rubbish and litter from the streets, including parks and other recreational areas. Not only do we get to clean up the town, but we also get to raise charity funds whilst doing it.
The group who collects the most bags of litter will win a luxury seafood hamper worth over £100 supplied by Youngs Seafood Ltd.
Want to be actively involved? You too can make a difference by joining us and be a part of the team by simply registering your interest and join in on the fun. Registration costs £4 with all proceeds going toward the charity.
This year our aim is to support and improve the homeless people of Aberdeen by providing essential items critical to their needs. There are many charities who do a marvellous job supporting the homeless through providing food stations, offering shelter and helping them re-integrate back into society, but we at Polfit recognise not everyone is able to make the change. We are looking to raise funds enabling us to put together parcels containing critical items that will help make life living on the streets more bearable. It is our intention to make contact with as many of them as possible distributing these parcels and to deliver a message that they are not alone.
With a busy calendar ahead, we already have a number of events over the coming months including the Inverness Half Marathon, Tough Mudder Scotland and the Lake District Borrowdale Challenge, and to kickstart the year we have organised a ‘Black Bag Jog’ in the town of Fraserburgh.
Every donation counts and your contribution can make a real difference in changing someone’s life.
