Description

A culinary journey with the goal of promoting young Haitian chefs, culture, music, art and the cuisine of the island of Haiti. An opportunity to experiment a contemporary, modern and fresh approach to the Haitian Cuisine.

The event will be held in Toronto. A unique creative city to discover and experience gastronomy. You will enjoy the inspired creations of 5 talented young chefs showcasing their visions and passion for Haitian food.

Chef Marc-Élie Lissade- Toronto: Native of Haiti, he is the CEO of BlackApron. His culinary style emphasized on authenticity and simplicity. Chef Lissade's passion and dedication has enabled him to participate on Master Chef Canada, season one. He also created traditional and modern menus for well-known restaurants in The US and in Canada.

Chef Olivier Leon Paultre- New York: Born in St-Marc, Haiti. Chef Paultre came to the USA at the age of 14. He moved to New York in 2011 to further his education. Originally wanted to become an FBI agent but I had a change of heart and follow his passion. Graduated in 2013, in Culinary Art, he started working for several corporations bringing his skills and experience. In 2015, he started his own catering company: Cooking for You. His main goal, in the future, is to open his own restaurant in the USA and his native country Haiti.

Chef Vladimir Ferrus- Montreal: Born in New York, Chef Vlad spent his childhood in Haiti where he developed an interest in cooking. He had the chance to learn all the secrets of the Haitian kitchen where every bite is an explosion of flavors and taste with his mother who had a catering service. Unfortunately, because of the political uncertainty in the country, he had to leave to move to Montreal where he graduated from the school of trades of catering and tourism of Montreal. In May 2015, he participated in the 3rd edition of the competition "Taste of Haiti" in Miami, Florida where he won 1st place for its exquisite dishes in a cook-off between several heads. He was also featured, in 2016, as a chef in the Taste of the Caribbean in Montreal. CEO of Lusciousfood which shows kitchen capsules on social media.
