Event description

Description

"Black and white are the colors of photography. To me they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected." Photographer, Robert Frank

There's nothing quite like a good black and white photo that "pops out" at you and makes a strong statement!

The world of color is getting so tired, so boring, so predictable! Learn how to stop relying on color to make your images work, learn how to watch the play of light and shadow and learn how to "see" your photos in monochrome/grayscale before you click your shutter! B&W photos are so evocative, emotional, and full of power, yet for a lot of photographers it can be an afterthought - if it's thought of at all!

Professional photographer David Duplessis of Tennessee Photographs will teach you the basic principles and concepts of B&W photography in the wonderful Cumberland Park setting, with downtown Nashville as a back drop. This class is designed for all photographers, whether you're a novice or someone who enjoys shooting in the RAW on manual mode! Please bring your favorite DSLR and whatever you gear you like to use. There are only 12 spots available. Reserve your spot today!

NOTE: We will meet near the Cumberland Park entrance by the elevator that leads to the top of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. This is a rain or shine event so plan accordingly.
