Event description

Description

The Round Rock Public Library and the Austin SCORE will offer a series of free workshops for small business owners (or those who are interested in starting their own business) on Fridays, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., September 8 through November 10. SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship.

These free timely workshops, presented by recognized experts and practitioners, will cover a variety of issues facing small business owners and entrepreneurs including financial issues, marketing, and strategic planning.

Join us on Friday, Oct. 27 for Public Relations, presented by Jeannine Wheeler. Why is Public Relations important for you? Jeannine helps associations and businesses increase their influence and sales. She will explain what PR is and why you need it. You will learn the elements of PR, how to get started with PR for your business, and most importantly how to have fun and make your PR plan work for you.

Jeannine covers public relations topics with explanations and example case studies:

  • Public relations has changed. A lot! How the advent of digital and social media has affected the industry, and your business
  • Defining public relations and how it fits in with your overall marketing program
  • What public relations can do for you and what can happen if you don’t have it
  • The elements of public relations: situation, objectives & audience, strategy & messaging, tools & tactics, timeline, budget, measurements, and how to get started and to agree on a plan, personnel and budget
