Event description

This event will take place at the RISE ANNEX.

Calling all bisexual and pansexual people; if you have ever been attracted to more than one gender, you are invited to participate in a transformative workshop. Over the course of seven sessions (from November 1-December 20), we will use discussion, brief presentations, and activities to help you understand yourself and the nationwide bisexual+ community better. The workshops are targeted to facilitate your self-discovery, learn about bi+ issues and find the rest of the local and national bi+ community.

Open to people who are: 18 and over and bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, fluid, queer, questioning or have ever been attracted to more than one gender. (Not for people who are straight, gay or lesbian)

These sessions are free to participants. Everyone receives a journaling workbook. Please join our instructors whose work is sponsored by the Gay & Lesbian Center of Bakersfield by signing up here.

Topics will include:

  • Defining safe space

  • Defining your sexual orientation with our without a label

  • Gender, yours vs. who you like

  • Dealing with erasure
