Event description

Description

Oriental, Asian, or round-leaved bittersweet is a creeping vine with inedible berries that is invasive in North America. Frustrating to gardeners and arborists, bittersweet is considered a largely useless bane on wild land. Wouldn’t it be nice if it were good for something? We can use ancient harvesting techniques to tend Asian bittersweet in the wild, simultaneously harvesting material for baskets while managing future growth.

Learn to weave a bittersweet holiday wreath. We'll employ several basic techniques in order to create a beautiful wreath for your door, or kitchen or dinner table. $35 includes all tools, materials, tuition and one fermented beverage.

Urban Farm Fermentory serves kombucha, jun, cider, mead, and beer with a focus on gruits (a beer style using few or no hops). Their tasting room features 22 rotating taps, with selections shifting seasonally. Pull up a seat, have a drink, and experience a taste of culture!
