Event description

Description

The day before the Nakamoto Institute Annual Dinner (and BitBlockBoom Bitcoin Maximalist Conference), don't miss the Bitcoin & Barbells meetup. Bitcoiner and competitive natural bodybuilder Jeff Vandrew Jr will be on hand to discuss lifting technique, program design, and diet.

If anyone coming into the Nakamoto Dinner and BitBlockBoom Conference from out of town won't have a car, carpooling with Jeff or other Bitcoiners can be arranged.

The meetup will be beginner friendly, so don't be intimidated!

Rough Agenda

4:00-5:30: Training Session ("Pull" Session)

  • Deadlifts (including tips on using the Valsalva Maneuver for better strength and stability)
  • Pull-ups (weighted, unweighted, or assisted depending on skill level)
  • Meadows Rows
  • Bicep Curls

5:30-?: Discussion and Q&A over a Casual Dinner
Jeff will be around to discuss and answer questions about:

  • Program Design (pros and cons of 5x5, Wendler 5/3/1, Traditional PPL, Bro-Splits, and more)
  • Diet. Emphasis will be placed on very low carbohydrate diets (full carnivore, semi-carnivore, or keto) but Jeff also does have prior experience with other "flavors" of paleo diets if questions arise.

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There will be parking at the gym location. If you are coming from out of town for the conference and won't have a car, DM Jeff on Twitter (@vandrewattycpa) and we'll get you into a car pool. Exact gym location will be revealed closer to the event, but it won't be far from the other Nakamoto weekend events.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
