While Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies have made the news over the past years, the financial industry recently turned its attention to the underlying “blockchain” technology and so-called “smart contracts.” Our international panel of selected experts from the financial, tech and legal industries will discuss the state-of-the-art on such innovation and related regulation, the main challenges in terms of breadth of use, the intertwine with the current systems and, last but not least, the potential for disruption possibly affecting central banks and the private sector in the U.S., the European Union and Switzerland.
