Class of 1980!

We are in the very beginning stages of planning our 40th! As shown there's no venue yet, though we know it'll be in So Cal somewhere between Los Angeles and South Orange County. Please answer this question:

Would it be fun to have a picnic with games bringing o our families in potluck fashion with additional food catered in?
or would you like a dress up affair like our 10 th and 20th at a hotel ballroom with dancing?
