Birth Awareness Project
We believe that pregnancy is a rite of passage that needs to be embraced and embodied. As facilitators and mothers, we understand that becoming a new mother is exciting yet also know that the excess of information can feel overwhelming and bring about insecurities. We want you to know that it doesn’t have to feel that way. Our aim is to bring you concepts that have dramatically shifted the way pregnancy and birth are experienced.
Over the course of the weekend, you will learn how to support yourself throughout your pregnancy physically as well as emotionally. We will encourage trust and surrender as we delve into the concept of the Labyrinth and encourage you to enjoy the process of becoming a mother. You will learn practical content about your changing body from pregnancy to birth; from delicious nutrient rich food ideas, integrating the power of movement and breathwork into the process, the stages of labor and pain coping mechanisms for birth you will leave feeling empowered and uplifted. You will also get in touch with your spiritual side as we will utilize prayer, affirmations and ritual to deeply connect you to your birthing self. We firmly believe that transitioning into motherhood is a spiritual awakening that has the opportunity to build confidence, bring about a deep level of acceptance and harness a sustained honoring of the process.
Each day will be incredibly informative and exploratory by nature. We will incorporate yogic movement, meditation and relaxation into each session.
Saturday and Sunday on January 21st and 22nd from 12-4pm at Soma Vida. We will provide snacks and all props for yoga and deep relaxation excercises.
