Many who have lived in Birmingham for years still don't know some of its back story. As part of InSpero's Beauty for Ashes contemplation, conversations, and responses to Dr. King's Letter from a Birmingham Jail, Collin Hansen, author and executive director of The Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics, will lead a tour of key social justice sites in Birmingham. It will begin at Kelly Ingram Park. You are responsible for your own transportation to each of the three sites. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water.

About the organizer

Organized by
InSpero Community

InSpero nurtures Birmingham’s creative community to offer their collective power and influence for the good of the city and reconnects churches to artists in authentic, meaningful ways.

InSpero’s intentional acts of beauty and hospitality build bridges between the creative community, Birmingham, and our local churches. Some of the ways we do this include:

  • Creating a safe place for artists to thrive, collaborate, and communicate truth, beauty and hope
  • Facilitating significant conversations between artists, pastors, and the city that build mutual understanding
  • Partnering in Birmingham’s restoration and reconciliation through creative offerings for the city
  • Investing in relationships with individual artists as well as the greater community of creatives in the city
