Event description

Description

WE ARE THE CREATIVE COUNSELLING MOVEMENT and we are passionate about bringing creative counselling interventions into mainstream models!

These creative therapeutic skills shares are being funded by Facebook and rolled out across the UK as part of our Creative Counselling Movements "BIG RIPPLE PROJECT".

You are invited to explore creative counselling tools with other members of The Creative Counsellors Club (although this is also open to welcoming new members) and to bring your own creative materials and ideas to share with the group! These groups aim to:

INSPIRE you to feel more confident in your approach to working creatively in the counselling room

CONNECT you with more like-minded counsellors to network, collaborate and tackle counsellor isolation

WHAT IS A SKILLS SHARE? An opportunity to network and connect with other counsellors through a shared love for all things creative. A skilled facilitator will host the sessions around a creative intervention topic and you are encouraged to bring creative tools and ideas to share within the group to enable exploration and to build confidence within your client work.

Session 1: Tell me your story! Creative ways for clients to tell their story, including stories, stones, shells and fairytales

Session 2: Taking off the mask, exploring identity, self, being real in and outside the counselling room

June 29th Session 3: Childs play, working with the inner child

August 31st Session 4: To be discussed with the group

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR:

My names Sarah and I am your facilitator for these meet ups. I have been qualified for over 6years and have worked as a schools counsellor before volunteering in a hospice counselling service. I currently volunteer and work with the Dove Service (www.thedoveservice.org.uk), primarily as an EAP counsellor and on NHS contracts for loss and bereavement in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. More recently I have taken the role of administrator for the trust board of Fountains Counselling Service (www.fountainscounselling.org.uk). I specialise in working with loss and bereavement as well as spirituality. I work a lot at relational depth and use creative techniques wherever possible. I have presented papers at Keele University Counselling Conference about spirituality and bereavement. In addition I deliver workshops in the community as part of All The Small Things (allthesmallthingscic.wordpress.com) , focusing on loneliness and community engagement.
