Birds on the Farm
Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM (WET)
Join PCC Farmland Trust at Jubilee Biodynamic Farm in the heart of the Snoqualmie Valley for a day of avian education. Led by local expert Alexia Allen, we will walk the farm looking for feathered friends, learn identification techniques and discuss how healthy bird populations play a vital role in sustainable pest management. Be sure to bring your boots, warm clothes and binoculars for a bird’s eye view of a conserved organic farm. This event is open to all ages but space is limited so register now for your chance to participate!
Our guide Alexia Allen has been watching birds for fifteen years – ten of those on her small farm in Woodinville. She is dedicated to nature observation and to delicious food, and is delighted by how well those interests overlap. Alexia was an instructor at Wilderness Awareness School's full-time wilderness skills program, and continues to be an instructor for the Kamana Naturalist Training Course. Her favorite birds are Song Sparrows.
PCC Farmland Trust secures, preserves and stewards threatened farmland in the Northwest, ensuring that generations of local farmers productively farm using sustainable, organic growing methods.
