Description

Join our trained guide for a free, ADULTS ONLY, kayaking and wildlife observation tour during the spring migration.

Although the guide services, safety and paddling instruction, and all gear use is FREE, there is an entrance fee of $5/person to enter the park (anyone under the age of 13yrs gets into all Texas State Parks for free.) This event is for individuals 13yrs and older. Anyone under the age of 16yrs will need an adult to accompany them.

This event will begin at 9am with on-land lesson and orientation, followed by a 1.5 mile paddling tour through the shallow, protected waters of Galveston Bay through the easy Oak Bayou Paddling Trail.

Expectations of the tour:

  • Participants must come prepared with close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing
  • Participants will bring their own water and snacks
  • Everything that goes out may get wet
  • Abundant wildlife will be observed, but if you want a pair of binoculars, please bring them

To complete the registration and confirm your spot(s), YOU MUST EMAIL the event coordinator at LISA.REZNICEK@TPWD.TEXAS.GOV The park will contact you with more details and a liability waiver to be signed and turned in at the start off the tour. The trip may be canceled at any time if conditions are not safe.
