Event description

Description

Golf and support conservation!

The goal of Birdies for Birds is to support birds living along the Westchester coastline by raising funds to plant native plants, remove invasive species, and reduce the use of harmful chemicals. Last year, we raised $10,000 to plant over 350 native flowers, trees, shrubs, and grasses at the Rye Nature Center to support the habitat needs of coastal and estuary birds.

Birdies for Birds is a charitable endeavor founded and organized by members of the Rye High School Varsity Golf team. Golfers Brian Latkany, Delucia Lepore, Lara Martin, Jack Tartaglia, and Amanda Latkany share a passion for playing golf and experiencing the beauty of the natural environment.

If you would like more information about our goals, please feel free to contact us at birdiesforbirds@gmail.com. You may also contact the Nature Center directly at (914) 967-5150.

The event ticket price includes a round of golf and post-game cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony for:

  • Lowest score
  • Closest to the pin (3)
  • Longest drive

We can accommodate up to 32 golfers in a modified shotgun start.

If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please contact us directly.
