BIPOC Outdoor Festival
Event Information
About this event
Calling all BIPOC who are interested in an afternoon of outdoor activities (paddling, birding, mountain biking, and more) in an inclusive, fun, and supportive setting!
This will be a setting for BIPOC to try new activities or enjoy old ones in a supportive environment. The purpose of this event is to create a space for BIPOC to feel welcome to learn and build a sense of community at the same time. The afternoon will start at noon with multiple sessions for the various activities. Many of these activities will be led by BIPOC instructors, whom we are immensely grateful for, as we value creating space for BIPOC in the outdoors.
Specifically; The day will be broken up into three sessions that offer instruction for each of the aforementioned categories;
- 12:30-1:45: Mountain biking, trail running, canoeing, SUPing, biathlon, birding/nature walk
- 2:00-3:15: All of the above
- 3:30-4:45: All of the above except trail running and biathlon
We will have a signup sheet on the day of the event for you to signup for the activities and sessions that interest you most. If you don’t feel like attending any sessions, then just come by to hang with your friends and have a great time!
After the day is over we hope folks will stay/join us for a social hour with refreshments, snacks, and a chance to relax and share stories after a day outdoors and socialize with one another.
Bonus! Making the CuTX BBQ will be there with BBQ, Stowe Cider will be there for some post-fun beverages, and snacks will be available as well! Are you a BIPOC-owned business that wants to join us for this event as well? Send us an email at events@gearx.com and we’ll work with you to reserve a space!
The event is a collaboration with Stowe Cider and others.
