Join National Taxpayers Union (NTU) and Arnold Ventures (AV) for a bipartisan discussion on budget and fiscal reforms that can break through partisan gridlock in the 118th Congress. A reception with refreshments will follow.
NTU and AV invite you to join us at Top Of The Hill on Monday February 27 from 4pm-7pm for a bipartisan discussion on budget reform followed by a reception.
Rep. Blake Moore (R-UT) will be a featured speaker. Rep. Moore has represented Utah's 1st Congressional District since January 2021. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means and the House Committee on the Budget. He has a proven record of working across the aisle to offer thoughtful, bipartisan reforms to address the fiscal and budget challenges Congress faces today. He recently introduced a bill with Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) that would require the government to do a better job of tracking and reducing improper payments, the Preventing Improper Payments Act.
Former Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Keith Hall will be a featured speaker. Mr. Hall is currently a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Mercatus Center, and served as the Director of CBO from 2015 to 2019. Before that, Mr. Hall was the 13th Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) from 2008 to 2012 and the chief economist for the White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) from 2005 to 2008.
Our panel discussion will feature budget experts from across the ideological spectrum, including:
- Pete Sepp, President of NTU
- George Callas, Executive Vice President of Public Finance at AV
- Maya MacGuineas, President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB)
- Bill Hoagland, Senior Vice President at Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC)
- Zach Moller, Director of the Economic Program at Third Way
Additional speakers may be announced.
The speaking portion of our event will run from 4pm to 5:15pm or 5:30pm, with a reception to follow until 7pm. Light snacks and drinks will be served.
We kindly request that you RSVP by Friday, February 17, as space is limited.
Refreshments will be provided. This qualifies as a widely attended event.
