Training is offered at no cost thanks to funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemiology Laboratory Capacity Cooperative Agreement Laboratory Safety Program.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Clinical laboratory managers/supervisors; Laboratory personnel;hospital management; Emergency personnel; Persons looking for opportunities to network with other biosafety practicing professionals; Persons with limited background looking to improve their understanding of biosafety and biosecurity; Persons needing refresher training.

SPECIFIC AIMS

Advance staff capacity for working with infectious organisms and other emerging pathogens of public health concern; Improve biosafety practices for handling/processing highly infectious specimens; Serve as
a refresher; Improve coordination of biosafety practices between public health labs and clinical partners; Better equip labs to serve their respective jurisdictions in the proper inactivation and disposal of specimens and other laboratory waste from suspected highly infectious agents.
