Description

Join us for a public meeting of the committee on Biological Collections: Their Past, Present, and Future Contributions and Options for Sustaining Them on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm EST and Friday, February 8, 2019 from 8:30 am – 9:50 am EST at the National Academy of Sciences Building in Washington, DC or remotely.

During the public sessions the committee will hear from subject matter experts from both U.S. and international organizations. The public session will also include time for interested parties to give short public statements for the committee’s consideration (advanced sign-up is required)*. Members of the public are invited to register to attend in person or watch remotely.

*Input can also be submitted in writing through the study website. All written materials submitted to the committee will be included in the Public Access File created for the Committee and may be quoted in whole or in part in the Committee’s report with attribution.

Register to attend in person or to watch remotely. The recordings will be posted on the study website one week after the meeting.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements to enter the event?

You will need to show a photo ID and check in at the guard’s desk at either entrance on 21st Street or Constitution Avenue.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The NAS building is located 6 blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro station and 10 blocks from Farragut North metro station. Parking is provided on a first come basis in the designated spaces of the NAS Building garage. Garage entrance is on 21st Street.
