Immerse yourself in the wonders of nature and the joy of scientific discovery. Come be a part of BioBlitz Canada 150 in Kitimat! Discover the Haisla Nation's front yard!

What is a bioblitz? Its when you, your friends, family, go out into the wild and find all the living bugs and creatures! A scientist takes the lead and shows you around your backyard.

Sign up for May 13/14! Tell us if you would like to participate identifying fish, plant, bird, or inverts. Rank your choices : )

May 13 and 14: Fish, Invertebrates, Marine Birds and Plants! BBQ to open the event on May 13.

Fish: Boat access, beach access through Minette Bay, seining and identifying juvenile species. May require waders.

Invertebrates: Beach access through Minette Bay, scraping top layer of mudflats to prep for future laboratory marine invertebrate identification. In field identification with local experts.

Birds: Spring migration species identification via Eurocan Haul Road, boat access near Kitimat River, and Minette Bay.

Plants: Transects and plant identification near Eurocan Haul Road, boat access near Kitimat River, and Minette Bay.
