Event Details

From the 6th April 2017, BIM will be introduced into Scottish central government (Review of Scottish Public Sector Procurement in Construction, 22 October 2013) with a view to encouraging adoption across the public sector. The objective is that where appropriate (Scottish Procurement Policy Note SPPN 01/2017, 8 March 2017), projects across the Scottish public sector adopt BIM level 2. As well as the Scottish central government requiring BIM, most private clients are also now demanding BIM. So, what is BIM? What is BIM Level 2? Will this change the way we work? This seminar will help to answer these questions for you.

The Aim:

This seminar has been developed to give attendee's a common understanding of BIM through a series of presentations, group work and open discussion. You will gain a common understanding of BIM, some of the standards and protocols that are now required to be used, how BIM & Information Management should be used to get the most from your design team models and what the future of BIM in Scotland and the UK is. Some of the material used is from our popular BIM 101 series we ran last year.
