Moderated by the Honorable Cassandra Kirk, BILLS ON THE BALLOT, What are you voting for? is the second part of our Beloved Community: Civic Engagement series. This community discussion will focus on the upcoming legislative bills we will vote on this November.

Legislative bills include:

  • Safe Harbor Amendment - Discussion with Sen. Elena Catherine Parent and Sen. Joshua Robert McKoon

  • Opportunity School District - Discussion with Rep. Valencia Stovall and Janet Kisbaugh, JD

  • Judicial Qualifications - Discussion with Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver and Ms. Patrise M. Perkins-Hooker, Fulton County Attorney's Office

  • City of South Fulton - Discussion with State Representative for District 62 LaDawn Blackett Jones and Sen. Vincent Fort

Objectives of this community discussion:

  • To have an informative bipartisan conversation with the public on the bills that have a direct influence in their communities

  • To emphasize the importance of participating in the political process

  • To present actual language that will be seen on the ballot
