About the speakers:

Nicolas Vernaz has over 15 years of experience in IT, Cybersecurity and Management inrapidgrowing and complex environments. After many years as CISO of a global Petroleum company, he led Data Protection and Regulatory compliance service and the overall GDPR offering and solutions for PwCCH ; which brought him to various industries use cases and implementation challenges. Nicolas is also a recognized spokesperson and influencer in regards to GDPR impact onSwiss market.

Gabriela de Godoy is a Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Manager at EY Switzerland. She is specialized in Cybersecurity governance, strategy, data classification and Privacy Management. Gabriela worked as a Cybersecurity expert across 4 continents supporting Blue Chip companies. She works together with IT and Cybersecurity departments to raise their visibility, importance and awareness across the business. She has extensive experience in leading and performing IT security audits, global Cybersecurity strategies and governance.

Arndt Soret is a German qualified lawyer, working since over 12 years in the Swiss Romandie. At Germany based TOSHIBA Europe GmbH he started his business career with a focus on competition law and data protection, turned after to the IT industry within Symantec and VeriSign in Geneva. Today, Arndt is an independent business lawyer, advising preferably SMB's on data protection and compliance, apart from making this world a better place by providing his services also to UN bodies and human rights NGO's, he's also known in Geneva as the Co-Founder of Humanium NGO (www.humanium.org).

19:30-20:00 - Gabriela will discuss why GDPR is an important step for Cyber Security, mentioning why cyber security is integral to GDPR compliance, what changes will you need to make to your cyber security practices. Finally, this session will cover the key differences between the GDPR vs Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA)

20:00-20:30 - In his presentation Arndt will put his focus on "How to make your company GDPR compliant, from a purely legal viewpoint". 1. Focus on your employees, 2. Focus on your customers and suppliers, 3. Legals and the CTO, 4. Legals and the HR, 5. Options to store your personal data (on premise, cloud with server-side and in-transit-encryption, cloud storage with client-side, end-to-end encryption).
