We are thrilled to announce our first bilingual demonstration food forest garden through our Sustainable Backyard Program! This is the perfect opportunity to practice your Spanish while helping to support a garden installation. Join us in planting a new permaculture garden in Vallejo. Nicole Wires from Planting Justice will lead the installation in Spanish.
Learn how you too, can transform your own yard!
Come to learn how to install a laundry-to-landscape system, plant trees, and pollinator plants that attract bees, butterflies and beneficial insects.
Day 2: Saturday, Feb 27-Planting, Greywater & Irrigation
- Learn what plants help your garden thrive by working together as an ecosystem. Volunteer tasks: planting trees, plants, installing laundry-to-landscape greywater and drip irrigation.
We are inviting individuals and people who want to work within their family/household bubbles on the site to come spend an hour working on this garden installation site. This is a great way to learn techniques and get ideas for your own yard! Only one ticket is required per family. Each ticket type is for a one-hour shift.
This public, hands-on installation workshop series will create a demonstration food forest garden in Vallejo, providing an opportunity to learn about rainwater capture, water efficient drip irrigation, laundry-to-landscape greywater and how to plant and mulch for a water wise garden that builds healthy soil and yields food.
