Event description

Description

Bikeshare Hawaii has partnered with AARP Hawaii, Hawaii Bicycling League, and Blue Zones Project to offer fun, free and healthy Biki Social Rides for people 50 and over.

On Thursday, October 18th from 5 - 7 pm Bikeshare Hawaii will be hosting a workshop that highlights how bikeshare contributes to age-friendly city initiatives and aging-in-place, and shares what we've learned so far about how Honolulu residents 50 and over have incorporated Biki into their lifestyle. We'll also take time to hear from attendees about existing barriers to bikeshare for this demographic and ideas to keep in mind as we continue to serve this community moving forward.

Who should attend: Hawaii residents 50 and over and the organizations that serve them and are curious about bikeshare. We also welcome any current Biki members that want to share ideas with Bikeshare Hawaii. There is no cost to attend this workshop.

What to expect: the event will include hands-on tutorial with the bike and the Biki system, and we will be walking people through the registration process and giving away some free memberships!

Presentations from the Hawaii Bicycling League and Blue Zones Hawaii will include information about additional ways Hawaii's older adults can safely and comfortably incorporate bikeshare and biking into a lifestyle that keeps them active and healthy.

Water and light pupus will be provided.
