Please join us for a 25-mile one-way bike ride from Bike & Roll on the Hudson River Greenway at 43rd St. in Manhattan to Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. The ride will be a very easy pace and approximately 25 miles. The ride will be led by Michael Oliva, Mid Atlantic Coordinator for the East Coast Greenway. We will explore existing portions of the East Coast Greenway, which include the Hudson River Greenway, Bronx River Greenway, Bronx River Forest, Mosholu Greenway, Van Cortlandt Park Greenway, and Pelham Parkway Greenway. We will also ride part of the East Coast Greenway interim route, which is on road and takes you through historic neighborhoods in the Bronx and northern Manhattan. We plan to reach Pelham Bay Park (Victory Memorial Statue) around 12:00 PM. Riders will then have the option of eating on nearby City Island or joining a Park clean up scheduled in Pelham Bay Park.
Please plan on providing transportation back to your home or the starting point at Bike & Roll. The Pelham Bay Park stop of Subway line 6 is about one mile from Pelham Bay Park and can take you back to 42nd St. where you can ride 1 mile west to Bike & Roll. There may be a few hearty souls who choose to do a round trip and cycle back to Bike & Roll, so this is another option.
For more info contact Michael Oliva, email@example.com
PLEASE preregister at http://pelhambay.eventbrite.com There is no charge but a suggested donation of $5 (or more) payable to the ECGA (a tax-deductible nonprofit organization) will be collected at the start.
