Motor City Brew Tours Presents: Bike and Brew Tour - Royal Oak to Palmer Woods and Woodlawn Cemetery Ride.

About this Event

Motor City Brew Tours Presents: Bike & Brew Tours - Guided Bike Tour from River Rouge Brewing Co in Royal Oak to the edge of Detroit. We will explore and learn about the historic Palmer Woods neighborhood and Woodlawn Cemetery (8-mile & Woodward area). We will bike back going through Ferndale and finish back at River Rouge Brewing Co for beer and food - 14 miles in total.

Do I get sent an actual ticket? No. We will have the name you registered with on a will-call list at event check-in.

What does the tour include? Ticket includes a guided bike tour with support staff, historical commentary, First beer and food back at the Brewery. Please note - "BYOB" - Bring Your Own Bike for this tour. The brewery will have food on site for the 4th of July and a special beer release.

Where should I park? In and around River Rouge Brewing Co - 406 E. 4th St Royal Oak, MI 48067. We suggest you either park on 4th street just west of River Rouge (in front of or across from Ace Hardware ) or on Knowles Street or on streets further East where the parking is non-metered.

What time does the tour start and what if I am late? Since this is a guided group bike tour, we start right at 9:30 am and goes to 1:30 pm. Call the number listed on your ticket with any issues later than that. Please note: there will not be a bathroom available at tour check-in.

How old do I have to be to attend an event? Since our tours will involve alcohol, we only offer our tours to adults aged 21 and over. Please bring your State Identification or driver's license to present to your tour guide upon arrival. Motor City Brew Tours follows all state of Michigan liquor/consumption laws.

How many tickets are available per bike tour? We limit the tickets to 20 per event. We feel this size of group is ideal for guided bike tours. This is a paid tour. The tour guides and staff are there to support the tour guests who paid for this experience.

How far do we bike and is it hard? This bike tour route is 14 miles, on flat paved road surfaces. We will ride on the road, bike lanes and sidewalks. We will have a tour guide to set the pace up front and a person in back to make sure we all stay together. We ride a relaxing (8-10 MPH) pace to help you learn about the history in Detroit, soak in the scenery and enjoy time with friends! This route will bike all the way over to Palmer Woods/Woodlawn to explore and share some some history and then all the way back.

What is the policy regarding cancellations for this Bike Ride: Reservation Fees received by Motor City Brew Tours are non-refundable and not transferable to other events. If you are unable to attend an event, bike ride tickets can always be transferred to another guest. They just give your name at the event registration. No need to notify us if you do this.

What type of bike is recommended for this ride? Mountain, comfort or road bikes are fine for this bike route. You will be riding on rail trails that are paved, hard packed rock and dirt surfaces. For your safety, helmets are strongly recommended for all of our events.

What should I bring with me on the bike tour? Yourself, a bike in good working condition, helmet, water, bike lock, identification, cell phone, a little money for other purchases, tire pump and a spare bike tube. Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing, sunblock and rain gear (if needed)
