Motor City Brew Tours Presents: Bike & Brew Tours - Guided Bike Tour from Berkley on October 6, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. A Detroit history themed bike tour that includes experienced and knowledgeable tour guides, relaxed riding pace for all biking abilities and small riding groups.

On this special Berkley based bike & brew tour, we will bike from Reforming Foundations Pilates & Wellness to Detroit. We will explore and learn about the historic Palmer Woods neighborhood and Woodlawn Cemetery (8-mile & Woodward area). We will bike back going through Ferndale and finish back at Reforming Foundations Pilates & Wellness for a pilates mat class and beer tasting - 18.5 miles in total.

Do I get sent an actual ticket? No. We will have the name you registered with on a will-call list at event check-in.

What does the tour include? Ticket includes a 18.5 mile bike tour through Detroit's Historical Palmer Woods and Woodlawn Cemetery to learn about Detroit's history. End your ride with a mat pilates abbreviated class. You will learn to stretch and lengthen all the right spots with a recommended post cycling stretch. Then enjoy a craft beer tasting at Reforming Foundations. Start and end at Reforming Foundations. Please note - "BYOB" - Bring Your Own Bike for this tour.

Where should I park? Park in the rear parking lot of Reforming Foundations Pilates & Wellness - 3044 Twelve Mile Rd, Berkley, MI 48072.

What time does the tour start and what if I am late? Since this is a guided group bike tour, we start right at 9 am and the ride goes to 1 pm with the mat class and beer tasting to follow. Call the number listed on your ticket with any issues later than that.

How old do I have to be to attend an event? Since our tours will involve alcohol, we only offer our tours to adults aged 21 and over. Please bring your State Identification or driver's license to present to your tour guide upon arrival. Motor City Brew Tours follows all state of Michigan liquor/consumption laws.

How many tickets are available per bike tour? We limit the tickets to 20 per event. We feel this size of group is ideal for guided bike tours. This is a paid tour. The tour guides and staff are there to support the tour guests who paid for this experience.

How far do we bike and is it hard? This bike tour route is 18.5 miles, on flat paved road surfaces. We will ride on the road, bike lanes and sidewalks. We will have a tour guide to set the pace up front and a person in back to make sure we all stay together. We ride a relaxing (8-10 MPH) pace to help you learn about the history in Detroit, soak in the scenery and enjoy time with friends! This route will bike all the way over to Palmer Woods/Woodlawn to explore and share some some history and then back all the way back.

What is the company policy regarding cancellations for Bike Tours: Reservation Fees received by Motor City Brew Tours for any tours or special charity events are non-refundable and can not be transferred to another event. If you are unable to attend an event, tour tickets can always be transferred to another guest. They just give the registered name at the event check in. Although very rare, Motor City Brew Tours reserves the right to cancel events for safety concerns such as high winds, thunderstorms, excessive heat or cold, or other severe conditions. In the event of such a cancellation, you may either reschedule or request a full refund. We ride in cold, hot or even rainy weather!

What steps are taken to ensure rider safety? We avoid automobile traffic when possible. Each tour begins with a safety and bike usage talk. Your tour guides are trained to perform basic bike care, but please bring bikes that are ready to ride. Mountain, comfort or road bikes are fine for this bike tour route. For your safety, helmets are strongly recommended for all of our tours.

What should I bring with me on the bike tour? Bike in good working condition, helmet, water, bike lock, identification, cell phone, a little money for other purchases, tire pump and a spare bike tube. The tour guide will have a bike pump with him/her as well. Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing, sunblock, rain gear (if needed) and don’t forget your camera! We will have plenty of picture taking opportunities.
