Big Pink Music In-the-Round: Sea Level Emerging Artists

By Big Pink Music

Overview

Big Pink Music proudly presents past Sea Level Emerging Artists - Nate Sacks, Tom Euler, Melanie Howdershell, and Roy Moats - in-the-round.

The Norfolk-based Sea Level Singer/Songwriter Festival ran for a decade(2008-2017), celebrating local artists and raising funds and awareness for Tidewater Arts Outreach. One of the festival's signature events was the Emerging Artist Contest which gave dozens of budding local singer/songwriters new audience and their first large stage experience.

Big Pink Music is proud to present past Sea Level Emerging Artist on Saturday, Nov 8, 1pm, at Hampton’s Victorian Station, the region’s only member-supported listening room. These four artists (with several special guests TBA) will take center stage -- literally -- for the next signature in-the-round. The format, made famous by Nashville's Bluebird Cafe and featured on the TV show, "Nashville," puts the artists in a circle ringed by the audience. It's an intimate, shared performance. Victorian Station, the grand building in Phoebus, is the perfect setting.

The venue will stay open after the show to host a reunion of former volunteers/friends of the Sea Level Festival who worked so hard to create this iconic local music event.

What is Big Pink Music?

"The personal support of Big Pink members means music can be the focus,” BPM board president Kelly Murphy says. “Victorian Station is the perfect home for our community. It has developed into a very special venue -- one with no TVs, karaoke, or loud bands -- where the audience truly listens to our local singer/songwriters.”
