Big Idea with Jon Gordon
Sat, April 29, 2017, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM CDT
On Saturday, April 29th the Cornhusker Council is honored to host Jon Gordon, the best-selling author of “The Energy Bus,” for a free special event open to all those that work with, coach and mentor our community’s youth. The only cost of admission is the suggested donation of one non-perishable food item for the Big Idea’s city-wide food drive benefitting the Food Bank of Lincoln.
This is an annual event that the Cornhusker Council calls the Big Idea, which focuses on Leadership and Service. It’s what Scouting has always been about. Striving to make a difference for the betterment of youth and the communities we call home.
The Big Idea is a collaboration between businesses, community leaders and Scouting to make a significant impact to our community that will have a long-term positive effect. It begins with Scouts across the Cornhusker Council participating in community service, camping and activities in March and April of 2017 all leading up to the Big Idea Celebration on April 29th, 2017 featuring Jon Gordon.
Jon has been taking his Energy Bus message around the country to the NFL, MLB and beyond, focusing on building up all those who work with and develop our youth. The Cornhusker Council wants to ensure his message spreads well beyond the Scout leaders we serve, as we’d love for all teachers, coaches, youth mentors, YMCA coaches and all others who work with youth to join us for this free event. Jon’s message of principles that focus on building a culture with foundations in positivity, teamwork and hope for the future is one not to miss.
Please join us for this FREE event on Saturday, April 29th at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Our event with Jon Gordon starts at 5pm, and the doors of the Bob Devaney Sports Center will open at 3:30pm. While this event is free, the only payment we ask is an item for our food drive, that will benefit the Food Bank of Lincoln.
