BIG DRAW! Comix Workshop & Pancakes at the Read/Write Library
Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The Read/Write Library and Big Draw Chicago are partnering for a one day program on October 6, 2013 in celebration of community, drawing, and self-expression. Local Humboldt Park youth and youth organizations are invited to participate in a panel discussion featuring three Chicago comic and illustration artists with works in the Read/Write Library collection. Artists Sarah Drake, Brooks Golden, and Caroline Picard will break down their process and talk about how they found their own personal style and share ideas. Following the panel discussion, each artist will give a short “mini lesson” on one element of their illustrative style. Youth and artists will have the opportunity to draw together and create a short comic of their own to add to a compilation zine and become a part of the Read/Write Library collection.
Outline of activity: 2pm-5pm Oct 6, 2013
- Pancake brunch and social (the first hour)
