Light-weight, comfortable headsets will help you hear clearly to get the most out of your naturalist-led small group private tour of the Fakahatchee’s Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk.   The tour of this National Natural Landmark site is a leisurely narrated morning stroll in dappled shade along the 2,220 foot boardwalk through one of the last remaining stands of virgin cypress trees in Florida.  The boardwalk will provide many photography and bird watching opportunities. The boardwalk is approached via an 800 foot crushed rock path bordering a borrow ditch with additional wildlife viewing opportunities.  Highlights include old growth forest, an active bald eagle nest and an alligator hole at the end of the boardwalk.

Meet at the Big Cypress Bend gravel parking area on the north side of highway 41 by the Miccosukee Indian Village Gift Shop at 08:45 for check-in.

Directions: From Naples, drive 17.1 miles east from the intersection of CR 951 (Collier Blvd) along US 41 (Tamiami Trail). Boardwalk sign on the right, but parking is on the left of the road.  From the east, the boardwalk is 6.9 miles west of the blinker at the intersection of US 41 and SR 27 near Everglades City, which is 17 miles south of the I-75 Exit 80 for Everglades City / Immokalee.
