Intentional Culture Creation for Your Nonprofit

Organizations with strong cultures outperform their competitors. The culture of your nonprofit is instrumental in attracting top talent (staff, board and volunteers) and support, and in building engagement. But when is the last time that you thought about the culture of your association?

Culture is rooted in the fabric of nonprofits and associations but rarely evaluated, reviewed or discussed. Is your environment positive or toxic? Is your organization collaborative or divided? Is everything within your organization mission-driven? Is everyone clear on your mission and vision and why they are important?

Join us in August for a robust discussion about the cultural development of your organization. We will discuss the characteristics of successful cultures, the benefits of having a truly aligned culture from the top down and the importance of reviewing your nonprofit activities through the cultural lens of your association.

About the Presenter

Melissa Lagowski created Big Buzz Idea Group in November 2004 so Chicagoland nonprofits would have an honest outsourcing partner to bring their largest projects to life. After raising nearly $6 million dollars for clients, Melissa is dedicated to providing full operational support that will allow charitable organizations to run more effectively. With 26 years of corporate and nonprofit experience, she has launched and executed large fundraisers, conceived several innovative and lucrative new programs (including virtual conferences and events), coordinated a variety of dinners/awards functions and organized numerous conferences/workshops. Awards and accomplishments include the Woman of Influence by The Chicago Business Journal (January 2016); the NAWBO Chicago Presidential Award of Excellence (2014); and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Graduate (2013).

About the Big Buzz Breakfast Club

The Big Buzz Breakfast Club is a nonprofit leadership series hosted the second Thursday of each month by Big Buzz Idea Group. It is designed to Power Up your nonprofit organization by providing leaders with information they need to spark the growth of their organization.
