Take your meditation off the cushion and into the great outdoors. The emphasis in Roaming Zen is on quiet presence as we move through the landscape, with some time for meditation at an auspicious location, and chances for discussion.
While most of the series is devoted to hiking in quiet parts of the city, as a devoted cyclist, I am also interested in exploring meditation on two wheels.
The second Bicycle Roaming Zen is Sunday November 13th on the Embarcadero. We will meet at the north end of Levi's Plaza Park, by the Fog City Diner, at Battery and Embarcadero, at 11am.
I noted with regret that the bicycle trip to Angel Island in June coincided with the Sunday Streets on Great Highway and JFK drive, which is a wonderful stretch of car-free riding. In November we will take the opportunity provided by Sunday Streets at the Embarcadero to have a traffic-free bay-side bicycle roam with various explorations on the side.
Bring enough food for a lunch, other snacks and water, a lock, and layers to cope with whatever the weather decides to do. Heavy rain will cause a cancelation.
