BICS Grantee Workshop
It is with great excitement that we invite you to participate in the Behavioral Interventions for Child Support (BICS) workshop in Washington D.C., February 14-15, 2017. The event will tentatively take place in the Great Hall of the Hubert H. Humphrey Building (200 Independence Ave SW). The workshop will convene staff and IV-D directors from all eight grantee sites, as well as federal staff from the Office of Child Support Enforcement, evaluation contract staff from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and members of the technical assistance and evaluation (TAE) team.
The goal of the workshop is to take stock of accomplishments and challenges from the first round of behavioral interventions, and look ahead to the next phase of the project. The TAE team and OCSE will facilitate sessions that provide inspiration, planning time, and practical training so that grantees are equipped to design and measure the effects of future behavioral tests.
About the Workshop
- Workshop participants will include project directors and IV-D directors. There may also be space for key site staff involved in policy, program, and/or data management. The meeting will coincide with the NCSEA Policy Forum, taking place in D.C. Feb 16th – 18th, which should decrease travel cost burden for those already intending to attend the forum. Project Directors will work with OCSE project officers to identify which staff from their site will attend the meeting.
- The format of this workshop is highly-interactive. In fact, we expect that some sessions will be delivered by grantees. The TAE team will provide support in developing these presentations.
- The workshop will be held from about 8:30am-5pm on Tuesday, February 14th and 9am-3:30pm on Wednesday February 15th. These times are tentative but our expectation is that the workshop will conclude early enough so that people can drive/fly home on Wednesday evening, unless they plan to attend the NCSEA Policy Forum.
- Accommodations: We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn Capitol (550 C Street SW, Washington DC, 20024), which is walking distance from the venue. These rooms are being offered at the government rate until Monday, January 16, 2017. Call 202-378-1141 or 202-479-4000 (ext 7138) and use the reservation code- PR2- to reserve your room.
