In support of the Ministry of the Attorney General’s efforts to improve fairness in recruitment processes, the Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Office, HR-SBU, CSMD, is offering an in-person training session on bias and barrier-free recruitment of summer law students. The training session is offered to support legal counsel from all divisions who will be participating on hiring panels for the 2017-18 summer law student interview.

This training is accredited for 2 LSUC CPD hours.

The training session will take place on October 25, 2017 in Huron Room, Macdonald Block, 2nd Floor, 900 Bay Street, Toronto. The session will start at 1:30 pm and end at 3:30 pm.

The training will focus on helping counsel:

1. Unserstand how unconscious bias can creat barriers in hiring practices

2. Identify potential barriers in recruitment and selection of staff

3. Develop strategies for conducting recruitment and selection in a manner that addresses barriers
