Event Details

It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite you to join us at the world headquarters of Discovery Communications, LLC in Silver Spring, MD for an in-depth conversation about going “Beyond the Textbook.”

We're looking to bring together an eclectic group representing a wide variety of members within the education community for an open conversation about “digital textbooks.”  The event will kick off on Sunday, March 18 at 6 PM ET with dinner and a screening in our HD theater, followed by a full day of brainstorms, explorations and discussions designed to explore the present and future state of curricular resources in schools.  We know that you will  bring a unique perspective to the table and hope you will share your passion and knowledge with the group!

Discovery Education has been in the “digital textbook” space for the past few years and we’re extremely proud of what we’ve been able to deliver to students and educators in terms of core curricular resources, professional development and ongoing support through our community efforts.  And as we continue to venture into this somewhat unknown space with new services for Social Studies and High School Science, we would be honored to hear your voice about what the future, and present, of core instructional  resources should be.

We know what you’re probably thinking at this point, and NO, this will not be a Discovery Education sales pitch. We recognize your leadership in this space and genuinely want to hear your thoughts on the topic.

As our invited guest we will cover all expenses including transportation, food and lodging.  As soon as you confirm your attendance by registering here, we will connect with you and begin making travel arrangements.

We are very excited about this conversation, and are humbled by your consideration of this invitation.  Please let us know if you have any questions, and we hope to see you in Silver Spring, MD soon.

Lance Rougeux, Vice President, Learning Communities and Instructional Implementation
